Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated July 5, 2026
We believe in being straight with you. This Affiliate Disclosure explains, in plain English, how A Matter of Cents ("we," "us," or "our") may earn money when we recommend tools on amatterofcents.com. It follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements.
1. The Short Version
Some links on this Site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for or buy a product, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. You never pay more because you used our link.
2. How Affiliate Links Work
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you use it and take an action the company rewards (like opening an account), the company may pay us a referral fee. This is a common way independent publishers keep their content free to read.
3. Our Recommendations Come First
We only recommend tools that genuinely fit the systems we teach in The Zero Chaos Money Plan. If a tool doesn't belong in a calm, simple money system, we don't recommend it — no matter what it pays. Every recommendation is tied to a specific system and a specific reason. We do not run "best apps" roundups or use urgency tactics.
Our opinions are our own and are not influenced by commissions. A payment never changes what we say about a tool, and we'll tell you about limitations and downsides where they exist.
4. Tools We May Have Affiliate Relationships With
Where relevant, we may use affiliate links for tools including:
- Sequence — our core "financial router" platform.
- Acorns — a beginner-friendly investing entry point.
- Betterment — a step up from beginner investing apps.
- Fidelity and Schwab — long-term brokerage accounts.
- Policygenius — comparing insurance.
- Trust & Will — basic estate planning.
- Bizee — LLC formation.
- Skillshare — skill-building.
- Fundrise — real-estate investing.
We recommend these tools because of how they fit our systems, not because of any commission.
5. We May Not Have Active Affiliate Relationships Yet
We're an early-stage publication. At the time of writing, some or all of the affiliate relationships above may not yet be active, and the corresponding links may appear as plain text rather than tracked links until we're accepted into each program. We disclose our intent up front so you always have the full picture.
6. Purchases Are Always Your Choice
You are never obligated to use our links or buy anything. If you prefer, you can search for any tool directly. Before signing up for any financial product, please review its own terms and consider whether it fits your situation — see our Disclaimer.
7. Questions
If you have questions about our affiliate relationships, reach out using the contact address below. You can also learn more about how we handle your data in our Privacy Policy.
